The Scabal × Dalí Brand Art Exhibition landed in Shanghai last week — and we were genuinely inspired to be there. It was one of those moments that reminds you why creativity still has the power to surprise, even in an industry built on heritage.

Back in 1971, Salvador Dalí reimagined twelve Louvre masterpieces for Scabal. It was an unexpected collaboration at the time, but also a very brave one. Seeing this work presented again, fifty years later and on a global tour, made the story feel surprisingly fresh.

What stood out to us about Scabal in this exhibition:
• They’re not afraid to bring heritage into new territory.
Revisiting the Dalí collaboration shows how a classic brand can stay curious and move forward without losing its roots.
• They treat art as part of the brand, not decoration.
Dalí’s work isn’t there “for show” — it’s part of how Scabal explains who they are.
• They engage with China with real intention.
Choosing Shanghai as a tour stop shows confidence in the market and respect for its cultural openness.

For us at MMUUZZ, this hits close to home.
We’re still early in our journey in China, but exhibitions like this make us think about the kind of presence we hope to build. A few years from now, we want MMUUZZ to be just as bold in honouring Belgian heritage and sharing the stories behind our brands — not only through products, but through the culture and craft that shape them.

Congratulations to Scabal on this inspiring exhibition, and thank you for bringing such a meaningful moment to China.
